Homemade taco seasoning is a super simple recipe, using common ingredients. I had all of these spices on hand already, which means it would take MORE effort to go to the store and buy pre-made taco seasoning.
Plus, there are no preservatives in this (or gluten – why does there need to be gluten in taco seasoning?). Just mix up chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, red pepper flakes, onion powder, oregano, salt and pepper.
Homemade taco seasoning is a great alternative to store-bought mixes.
- 2 tbs chili powder
- 1 tbs ground cumin
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- Mix all ingredients. Use 1 to 2 tablespoons of mix per pound of meat for tacos.
